I was inspired to create this project by the cover of a 19th-century book about sea stories “Spun-Yarn” by Morgan Robertson. The book’s cover was designed by Margaret Neilson Armstrong, an American designer and illustrator known for her interest in the Art Nouveau style. I was captivated by the interesting composition of seahorses and heraldic dolphins. I decided to refresh this pattern a bit and give it a new life on pure, noble silk in the color of golden moss.
